Quite possibly the most talked about new “supplement”, Turkesterone has made it into the gorilla’s crosshairs and as a natural gym bro – this wonder drug definitely presented itself to me draped in a red dress. I chose to run a few personal tests of this reasonably new plant compound at the beginning of this year to find out exactly how viable this compound is for maximizing hypertrophy and stimulating both muscle growth and strength.
Turkesterone is a kind of phytoecdysteroid, a steroid hormone that exists naturally in plants. It is derived from the Central Asian natural plant Ajuga turkestanica. Because of its anabolic qualities, turkesterone is known to be able to encourage muscle growth and improve athletic performance.
Turkesterone For The Natural Hardgainer
Turkesterone is frequently used by bodybuilders and athletes as a dietary supplement to promote muscle growth and boost athletic performance. It is thought to function by enhancing protein synthesis and nitrogen retention, which support the development of lean muscle mass and lessen the risk of muscle injury.
Turkesterone is thought to provide a number of additional health advantages in addition to its anabolic qualities. It is believed to possess anti-inflammatory characteristics that can aid in reducing inflammation and fostering the body’s ability to heal. Additionally, it might possess neuroprotective qualities that make it effective for treating neurological illnesses.
My Experience With Turkesterone
Although turkesterone is frequently used as a dietary supplement, there is not enough scientific data to support its efficacy and safety. So, I took it upon myself to be the scientist and the lab rat.
You can follow my progression on this below.
As with any dietary supplement, you should see your doctor before using turkesterone, especially if you have any underlying medical concerns or are currently taking any other prescriptions.
Although the most comprehensive way to test the efficacy of turkesterone would be to obtain blood tests, however, I currently do not have access to this and have only my key performance indicators (KPI) to rely on.
Based on my goals, I will be judging the efficacy as below:
| KPI | Month 1 | Month 2 | Month 3 |
| Strength | Moderate to no changes in strength. | Definite increase in strength gains even while on Ramadan. | Moderate increase overall |
| Lean Muscle Mass | Increase in lean muscle mass. Approximately 1.5kg of solid weight. | Maintenance of lean muscle mass even while on Ramadan. | Maintained |
| Recovery | Dramatic improvement in recovery and sleep. Sustained a lower back injury dead-lifting during this time and recovered within 10 days. | Moderate recovery and sleep during this period. Possibly as a lack of intense training during Ramadan. | Moderate recovery |
| Workout Endurance | Clear increase in endurance during workouts. | Moderate to no changes in endurance during this Ramadan period. | Maintained Increase |
| Libido | Definite increase in libido. | Definite increase in libido. | Maintained increase |
FINAL THOUGHTS ON TURKESTERONE AFTER 12-WEEKS CYCLE
After my 3-month cycle of turkesterone, I can conclude that it is definitely a great supplement for those requiring some help in the libido department. Although there were some improvements in various key performance markers like strength and increased lean muscle mass, I believe that this is more of an indication and reflection of a change in diet and sleep protocol during this bulking phase.
I am simply paying more attention and doing things the right way. Eating at a caloric surplus and eating the right food; maintaining a training protocol that emphasizes progressive overload and recovery; and also improving my sleep patterns – these have been the main reasons for my progress during this cycle.
